Interdisciplinary Field Program

The University of Georgia’s Interdisciplinary Field Program (IFP) mixes geology, ecology, and anthropology into a summer road trip across America. In 2024, 18 students and a rotating group of faculty members embarked on 60 day van journey from Georgia to California, crossing 20 states and traveling 12,000 miles on the road. Camping, meals, and class lectures took place in 23 National Parks along the way for an unforgettable field learning experience.
